A Rainy Wedding Day at The Peanut Warehouse
I’m finally getting around to writing a post about this beautiful day that happened almost exactly a year ago. Happy anniversary, Kristen & Mitch! I wanted to share some of the fun details of a typical wedding day with me. The weather may have tried to get us down, but we made the most of it!
Getting Ready
These cuties had the best friends and family to help them prepare for their big day. From baby pigtails, to family gifts, to champagne; the excitement was palpable and you could feel the love.
The Ceremony
This ceremony is still one of my favorites I’ve gotten to capture. The location, the intimacy, and the way the rain held off until the first married kiss! I always recommend planning your day in the way that feels the most authentic to you. If that means a small ceremony and a big party afterwards, go for it!
Picture Time
I love getting creative during this part of the day. However, the weather called for a little more creativity than I’m used to. The Downtown Conway Bridge provided some cover for us, but my handy clear umbrella saved us! Not only were we able to get some beautiful photos of the happy couple right after their vows, but they turned out to be some of my favorites!
Golden Hour
After dinner (and after the rain thankfully passed), Mitch and Kristen wanted to get outside for some golden hour photos. We walked along the Historic Conway Riverwalk, and went down onto the floating docks by the bridge. The setting, lighting and love between the two of them made for the sweetest intimate wedding photos. I would definitely recommend sneaking away from your reception for a quiet moment like this!
Time to Party
Kristen and Mitch had a first dance to remember, and the sweetest moments with their parents. They made sure to mingle with every single guest (so impressive), party on the dance floor, and get into their natural habitat behind the bar (they’re both bartenders!).
Last Dance
As opposed to a traditional send-off, this beautiful couple opted for a private last dance. Getting to capture their last dance in an empty Peanut Warehouse at the end of the night was so special. I love when the bride and groom get a moment just to themselves (with me, a lurking third-wheel of course).
I’ve gotten to capture so many special moments for the Emmons family. From Mitch’s proposal to a gender reveal for their third child, I’ve loved making memories with them; but this day was definitely my favorite!
If you are planning your wedding day, and struggling to find a photographer who can help you tell your unique story; I would love to chat!
